6th August – Garstang Show

2015 marked the 200th year of the Garstang Show– one of the North West’s leading agricultural and horticultural shows, and this year it is back, promising to be bigger and better! As well as showcasing the finest in farming produce from the local area, there is a diverse variety of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Along with a thrilling quad and motorbike stunt show, there will be food demonstrations, live music, dog tricks, a jam-packed horticultural tent and the Super Hero Hoedown presented by some special guests.

 

7th August – Marine Mudness, Morecambe Bay

For those who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty – Marine Mudness is the event for you! Bring the family along for an afternoon of mud-based activities on Morecambe beach. An interactive way to learn about local birds and wildlife that inhabit the local area.

 

13th August – Cockerham Village Show

The annual Cockerham Village Show brings together people of all ages in a celebration of colour! Vegetable growing competitions, flower displays, arts and crafts and cookery demonstrations combined to make a fun-filled day out not to be missed.

 

14th August – Fylde Coast Food and Drink Festival

Back for the second year running, showcasing quality food and drink from across the Fylde coast. 2016 also marks the launch of the exciting new bake off competition, where the organisers invite budding baking of all ages to enter their scrumptious sponge cakes and mouth-watering muffins in the hope of winning some great prizes. Along with an abundance of street food and local produce, there will be plenty of activities for little ones to enjoy.

 

20th-21st August – Model Railway Weekend, Carnforth Station

A great day out for model railway fans of all ages! The annual railway show is back for another year with model displays and demonstrations all in aid of the Carnforth Heritage Centre.

 

21st August – Hopeful and Glorious Summer Craft Sunday, Scorton Village Hall

Back for the third year running, the Hopeful and Glorious Summer Craft fair appeals to all ages. Located in the stunning Forest of Bowland, Summer Craft Sunday brings together the finest artists and creatives to showcase their work- a whole plethora of handmade items such as jewellery, ceramics, paintings and textiles. Take home your very own masterpiece!

 

22nd – 29th August – Garstang Arts and Music Festival

A week-long celebration of the Arts held in the charming market town of Garstang. The Arts and Music Festival offers everything from live music from local bands and orchestras, arts and crafts, poetry readings and storytelling, floral demonstrations and children’s entertainment. Sit back and soak in the creative atmosphere, and don’t forget to check out the exciting Town Crier’s competition!

24th August – Marty Macdonald’s Toy Machine, Morecambe

Join Marty, Sally and the rest of the farm gang on an exciting journey as they go on an adventure to repair the Toy Machine and give the world it’s toys back before the Toy Master returns! A live interactive show full of sing-alongs and interactive fun.

 

27th–28th August – Great Ecclestone’s Tractor Pulling Championships, Showground

Watch as over 80 competitors from the world’s most powerful motor sport battle it out to be crowned victorious in the tractor pulling championships.

 

 

29th August – Love Local Harvest Market, Lancaster

Foodie heaven! Sample delightful homemade food and drinks from local providers from Lancashire. As well as the opportunity to take home some delicious fresh produce, there will be raffles, live cooking demonstrations, live music and children’s entertainment.

 

31st August – Hidden History and Stories, Lancaster Castle

Let the costumed tour guides lead you around Lancaster Castle, telling tales of gruesome events, witch trials and executions along the way. Make sure you pay attention because there is a chance to win goodies at the end of the tour! All children to be accompanied by an adult.
