Woodland Walks in Lancashire
Moss Wood's Hidden Gem
Many visitors head to Moss Wood Caravan Park to enjoy a walking holiday in Lancashire. Our Cockerham holiday park is perfectly positioned to enjoy a variety of scenic walks, including footpaths through the stunning local countryside and the popular Lancashire Coastal Way. Despite the abundance of walking routes nearby however, you don’t have to travel far to enjoy the beautiful landscapes for which Lancashire is famed. Within the grounds of our holiday park, guests can enjoy a peaceful woodland walk, through half a kilometre of mature forest.
One of the best woodland walks in Lancashire
The woodland walk at Moss Wood Caravan park is a real gem, not to be missed during a stay at our 5 star caravan park. We think it’s one of the best woodland walks in Lancashire, with a carpet of wild flowers at different times of year. We especially love this walk during early spring when the woods boast a vibrant blue carpet of bluebells. The scenery is also spectacular in the autumn months, when the trees turn varying colours of orange and brown.
As you walk along the winding path you will be treated to a chorus of birdsong. Keep your eyes peeled for the various species of wildlife that call the forest home. If you have your binoculars or camera at the ready, you may be able to capture birds, insects, hedgehogs and squirrels. Some of guests have even been fortunate to spot an elusive red squirrel whilst completing our popular nature trail!
We highly recommend touring guests and holiday home owners take some time out to enjoy a leisurely stroll through the woodland at Moss Wood Caravan Park. Our woodland walk is the perfect place to destress and enjoy some quality family time, surrounded by nature.
How to find the woodland walk
If you want to have a look for yourself, you can find the start of the woodland walk at the top of the playing field (behind the reception and shop building).
