Farm Yard Ales, Cockerham

Farm Yard Ales is situated next door to Moss Wood Caravan Park and well worth a visit during your stay. Whilst it isn’t a pub in the traditional sense, the microbrewery does have a tap room, which serves 8 different types of beer alongside a host of innovative specials.
From the tap room you can watch the very beer you’re drinking being brewed below. Throughout the year the team host a number of fun events with live music and street food, including the popular Oktoberfest.
The Manor Inn, Cockerham
Distance from Moss Wood – 2 miles
The Manor Inn is located in the village of Cockerham, only a couple of miles from Moss Wood Caravan Park. This lovely country pub boasts an extensive menu, with an impressive selection of home cooked dishes, including pies, fish, steak, pizza and pasta. There’s a varied selection of local ales, ciders and spirits if you plan on stopping by for a quick drink.
Outside, theres a large beer garden with barbecue area, allowing you to enjoy a leisurely lunch in the sunshine. The Manor Inn is family friendly and welcomes dogs in both the inside and outside dining area. The Bellflower, Garstang

The Bellflower is a large pub with a modern interior and relaxed atmosphere. It is part of the Marsdens chain and popular with families, due to the play facilities on offer. The menu is varied with a selection of traditional and world dishes to choose from as well as daily chef specials. There’s also a separate gluten-free menu and options for vegetarians and vegans.

The Fleece Inn is a charming country pub, set in an idyllic location, on the edge of the Forest of Bowland. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and can be incorporated into a number of scenic walks. In recent years the owners have invested heavily in the establishment and completely transformed the look and feel. The pub now has a stylish interior and warm and cosy atmosphere.
Head Chef, Ian Manning uses the finest local ingredients to craft pub favourites alongside international specials. Enjoy a relaxed dining experience next to the cosy log fire in the winter or sit in the pretty garden in the warmer months. There’s a small play area for children as well as a lovely lawned area.
Patten Arms, Winmarleigh
Distance from Moss Wood – 5 miles
The Patten Arms in Winmarleigh is widely known for its delicious Sunday Roast. It has an excellent reputation locally, with online reviews commending the friendly owners and the incredibly welcoming staff. The menu’s relatively small, but there is still plenty of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes to choose from. At the time of writing, meals can be enjoyed on the premises or ordered to takeaway.
Inside the pub the decor is fairly traditional with dark panelling and high ceilings creating a cosy atmosphere. To the rear there’s an extensive beer garden with plenty of picnic tables to enjoy a meal or a drink in the sun.
Bay Horse Inn, Bay Horse

The Bay Horse Inn is a real family affair with multiple generations working together to grow the reputation of this acclaimed Lancashire country pub. Over the past 24 years, head chef Craig has grown quite a following, and is known across the county for spectacular dishes such as Lancashire Sirloin and Goosnargh duck legs. Craig is a huge advocate of Lancashire and uses suppliers that lie predominantly within a 30 mile radius.
The pub occupies an idyllic location, just 5 minutes walk from the Lancaster Canal. It is surrounded by picturesque countryside, with grazing cows and other wildlife visible in the fields beyond.
The Black Bull, Preesall
Distance from Moss Wood – 8 miles
The Black Bull was established in the 18th century and retains many of the original features. The pub has low ceilings and traditional beams, creating a cosy environment with plenty of rustic charm. The team have a simple recipe to success, which they endeavour to meet each day. “Great beer, great food and great atmosphere” is the motto and having tasted the food we certainly think they’ve achieved this goal.
The menu features all of the classics along with some chefs specials. Many country pubs in Lancashire favour local produce, but the chefs at The Black Bull Take it one step further. You can see the potatoes that are used in the dishes growing in the fields outside. You can’t get much closer than that!
The Plough Inn, Galgate

The Plough Inn is a pretty country pub with an expansive beer garden and plenty of outside seating. It is popular with families thanks to the bouncy castle situated in the grounds. If your visit clashes with a major event you won’t have to miss out. There’s an outdoor TV showing Sky & BT sports.
One of the best things about the Plough Inn is the extensive menu. There’s so much to choose from, you’re bound to find something to suit even the fussiest of eaters.
