Considering a stay at Moss Wood Caravan Park in Lancashire, but not sure where to visit during your weekend break? To help you plan your days out from the park, we’ve compiled a 3-day sightseeing itinerary for your holiday in Lancaster. It includes some of our favourite attractions and places to eat and drink.

Day 1

Arrive at Moss Wood from 2pm to maximise your holiday in Lancaster. Settle in at the park and explore the range of facilities on offer. We have two great walking areas on-site – our woodland walk and nature trail. They’re the perfect place to stretch your legs after a long journey.  Spend some time appreciating the gorgeous wild blooms and keep an eye out for the fascinating wildlife that habitats the area.

If you are a keen angler, consider heading straight to our private coarse fishing lake. The lake is well-stocked with carp, rudd and tench, and set in beautiful grounds. Spend the afternoon enjoying the peace and quiet while you reel in your catches.

Dinner

After a busy afternoon setting up your caravan and exploring Moss Wood’s picturesque grounds, you’ll have worked up an appetite. Venture outside and have a meal at Merchants 1688. The pub is situated inside a former wine merchant’s cellar and has delicious freshly prepared meals that are lovingly prepared using local ingredients. They have a great selection of beers and cask ales, many sourced from Britain’s best local brewers.
